CSAC will be hosting the 2010-11 New Supervisors Institute beginning in November to provide newly elected supervisors with background and information on the myriad policy issues, as well as the basics on county government and the role of a county supervisor. CSAC presents this highly acclaimed Institute every other year to incoming county supervisors.

The New Supervisors Institute is conducted by the CSAC Institute for Excellence in County Government, in collaboration with The Center for California Studies at California State University, Sacramento. This series of three seminars offers a unique opportunity for new County Supervisors to meet their new colleagues and learn important information and protocols to help them better understand the requirements and environment of their new office.

The first session of the Institute is scheduled for Monday, November 15, and Tuesday, November 16, in conjunction with the CSAC Annual Meeting, which will run from Tuesday, November 16 through Thursday, November 18, in Riverside  County. This will allow newly elected Supervisor(s) to attend both important meetings.

Subsequent New Supervisor Institute sessions are tentatively set for February and May of 2011 in Sacramento at the CSAC Conference Center.
