The County of Santa Clara is seeking an Agricultural Commissioner/Sealer who will be responsible for planning, organizing and directing the agricultural and weights and measures inspection and enforcement program within the Department of Agriculture and Environmental Management. This position reports to the Director of Agriculture and Environmental Management. It is an executive management position with a staff of 30 and a $3.8 million budget.
A degree in biological, chemical or physical sciences or a related field, 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the enforcement of agricultural or weights and measures laws; 2 years of management and program experience. A valid licenses of eligibility as a County Agricultural Commissioner and as a County Sealer of Weights and Measures. A valid California driver’s license.
