$77,390.41 – $116,085.61 Annually

Description:

The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department is seeking an Assistant Deputy Director of Community Health to provide leadership for approximately 190 employees in the Community Health Division. The Division’s programs and services address the health needs of the community by promoting wellness and preventing the spread of disease throughout the entire County.  This position will be based in Santa Barbara and have countywide responsibilities.
The Assistant Deputy Director will supervise leaders and line staff, as well as multidisciplinary project teams from departments, labor organizations, the community and other government agencies.  You will develop and manage the budget, form policies and procedures and oversee special projects and initiatives while coordinating resources.  
You will assume the full leadership responsibility for assignments.  You will design and implement countywide standards, goals, and customer service solutions.  You will make recommendations to policy makers at the CEO and Board of Supervisors level.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Public Health or a Human Services related field; and
a minimum of 4 years supervisory experience in a health-related setting, with 2 years of program management experience.
