$19.08 to 25.74 per hour

Description:

Under supervision, to discover, inventory and assess taxable personal property in the county; to audit and analyze financial records and appraise commercial, industrial and agricultural personal property and fixtures for tax assessment purposes; and to perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree with a specialization in accounting from a recognized institution of higher education or is a licensed accountant in the State of California.

Experience: Auditor-Appraiser I: None.

Auditor-Appraiser II: Two years of increasingly responsible professional experience in auditing and appraising, or one year as an Auditor – Appraiser I in Tuolumne County.

Other Requirements: Auditor-Appraiser I and II: Must possess a California driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record.

Auditor-Appraiser I: Must obtain a valid Appraiser’s Certificate from the California State Board of Equalization within twelve months of hire date.

Auditor-Appraiser II: Must possess and maintain a valid Appraiser’s Certificate from the California State Board of Equalization. May obtain an Advanced Appraiser’s certificate from the California State Board of Equalization.

Must complete 24 hours of continuing education per year as required by law to retain a valid appraiser’s certificate OR must complete 12 hours of continuing education per year to retain a valid advanced appraiser’s certificate.
