Description:

The current vacancy’s assignment is within the Family, Youth & Children’s Division and includes responsibility for the Adoptions program and other child welfare programs which may include other permanency programs and transitional age youth programs including Independent Living Skills. This newly designed section will serve children and youth who have not returned to the care of their parents and for whom adoption is the permanent plan as well as those in other child welfare programs. The exact composition of the section is not known at this time. The section will be comprised of three or more units of child welfare social workers and their supervisors and will be responsible for all case management services, placement services, court responsibilities, parent/child visits, and any other services necessary in each case. In addition to these responsibilities, the selected candidate will likely have administrative responsibility for other projects, proposals, and functions in the division.

Qualifications:

Graduation from a college or university with a degree in social work, gerontology, public administration, business administration, economics, psychology, sociology, or a closely related area would provide this opportunity. A Master’s Degree in a field related to the assigned division is highly desirable and may be required for some positions.
