Salary:

• Level I:  $28.15 to 34.37 per hour
• Level II:  $31.10 to $37.97 per hour
• Senior:  $34.37 to $41.96 per hour

Description:

Civil Engineer I/II
Under general supervision, to perform a variety of professional civil engineering field and office work including planning, designing, preparing specifications and conducting inspections of public works maintenance and construction projects for streets, storm drains and related structures; to perform office and field work related to transportation studies and multimodal planning; to prepare applications for and administer grants and other funding; and to perform related work as assigned.

Senior Civil Engineer
Under direction, to perform a wide variety of complex professional civil engineering field and office work in transportation and land development operations; to provide professional assistance to office staff; and to perform related work as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Level I:  Graduation from a four-year college with major course work in civil engineering.

Level II:  In addition to the above, two years of work experience at a level equivalent to Civil Engineer I, and successfully receiving registration as a professional civil engineer in the state of California.

Senior:  In addition to the above, two years of work experience at a level equivalent to Civil Engineer II, and possession of a valid California registration as a professional civil engineer.

Other Requirements:

Must possess a California driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record.
