Description:

With more than 122 miles of scenic coastline, beautiful valleys and rugged peaks cresting to 6,800 feet, Santa Barbara County spans a spectacular 2,774 square miles. The County offers a paradise-like setting for tourists, vacationers and more than 429,000 residents.
The County of Santa Barbara is a general law county governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors which appoints the County Executive Officer (CEO). The CEO is an at-will executive level position that reports to the Board and serves as their primary advisor on all matters relating to the efficient and effective administration of county government.  The Board is seeking a CEO that will inspire, motivate and empower key staff and department directors. The new CEO will genuinely understand the value of all employees and seek to improve morale in the organization.

Qualifications:

The new CEO will be a dedicated public servant with public finance, budget and administrative expertise.  He or she will possess superior interpersonal and communication skills and a proven track record as a confident and innovative leader who is comfortable operating in a dynamic environment.  A BA/BS degree is required and an MA/MS degree is desirable.
