Deputy II:  Salary: $41.56 – $50.52 Hourly
Deputy III:  Salary: $47.81 – $58.12 Hourly

Description:

Sonoma County Counsel is seeking a highly motivated, career-oriented attorney, with excellent research and writing skills, the ability to think strategically and creatively, and the desire to assume responsibility and work cooperatively on complex and fast-moving projects. The position will require a strong litigation background and require the preparation and presentation of civil cases before the court and administrative bodies. This position may handle a wide range of county legal matters, including tort litigation, law enforcement issues, section 1983 civil rights actions, ADA issues, contamination issues, land use litigation, contract litigation, condemnation, and employment law.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have substantial public law litigation expertise (including trial experience), an excellent academic background, exceptional writing skills, and a demonstrated ability to creatively problem-solve, and work effectively both as part of a team and independently.  Since the position will likely be assigned to advise the Sheriff’s Office, experience representing law enforcement agencies is desirable, but not required.
