Description:

The Marin County Free Library is a special taxing district with 202 total employees that operates ten branch libraries in Marin under the authority of the Board of Supervisors. It provides public library services to the residents of the unincorporated areas of the County as well as the cities of Corte Madera, Fairfax and Novato.  It has a stable funding base separate from the County’s General Fund.  Under general policy direction of the Board of Supervisors and as advised by the Library Commission, the Director of County Library Services plans, organizes, coordinates and administers all programs and services of the Marin County Free Library System.

Qualifications:

Requires a master’s degree from an ALA accredited college or university and four years managerial or administrative experience which has included administration of library programs and services and supervision of professional staff.
