Yolo (population 202,000) is one of California’s original 27 counties and is located west of Sacramento and northeast of Solano and Napa counties, in the rich agricultural regions of California’s Central Valley and the Sacramento River Delta. Over 87% of the County’s residents live in the four incorporated cities: Davis, Woodland (the County seat), West Sacramento and Winters. Principal programs in the Department include: Public Assistance Programs, Child Welfare Services, Adult Protective Services, In-Home Supportive Services, and Employment Services. Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor’s degree; a master’s degree would be a plus. Must have at least five years of paid work experience, including at least three years in a management or supervisory position. Candidates from all geographic areas will be considered, although California experience would be a plus. Desire a strong leader who communicates clearly with staff and values their input. Must have an open door policy and be approachable, as well as visible both inside and outside the organization.
