Description:

Conveniently located less than an hour north from San Francisco, Sonoma County offers abundant opportunities for a high quality of life.  The position plans, organizes and directs the overall activities and programs associated with the department which includes:  Countywide emergency preparedness for natural disasters; and response activities for hazardous materials, and fire and emergencies in unincorporated County areas, in conjunction with the cities, special districts and the state.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be a collaborative leader, strategic thinker, and resourceful.  Requirements include significant experience in:  disaster and emergency management; fire prevention, code, suppression and rescue; and at least two years of mid management experience in a large or complex organization providing direct related services.
