The County of Nevada, California, located in the scenic Sierra foothills, seeks qualified candidates for Director of Human Resources. Plan, organize and direct the County’s human resources services in the areas of recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, employee and labor relations including collective bargaining, organizational and employee development, personnel policy development and administration, benefits, legal compliance and risk management including safety, liability and workers compensation; and provide expert professional assistance to the Board of Supervisors and County management staff in areas of responsibility.
Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree from an
accredited college or university in public or personnel
administration or closely related field, and five years of
increasingly responsible professional experience in personnel
administration in the public sector which has included at least
two years at a supervisory or management level.
Also requires enrollment in the Nevada County Community Leadership Institute with completion within one year of date of hire, and enrollment in the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) Senior Executive Credential Program with completion within 2 years of hire date.
