$125,507-$152,568; placement within the range is dependent upon qualifications.

Description:

San Luis Obispo County is located on the beautiful central coast of California and is home to over 270,000 residents. The County is now seeking a Director of Planning and Building to oversee a department of 90 full-time staff members and a FY2012/2013 budget of $11.1 million. The new Director must be able to form positive working relationships with the Department’s staff, the County’s management team and Board, and the various commissions, boards, associations, and other agencies in the region.

Qualifications:

San Luis Obispo County is seeking candidates with experience in land use, building, and sustainability for this position. Candidates for this position must possess experience in urban and rural planning and with CEQA; at least five years of increasingly responsible management experience in planning and building; and a Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Public Administration, Geography, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field. A Master’s Degree is highly desirable.
