Salary:

The annual salary range for this executive manager position is $165,000 to $185,000.

Description:

The Director, Social Services Agency, is responsible for the day-to-day direction and oversight of the Agency, including the responsibility for establishing priorities for and evaluating the effectiveness of service delivery. Additionally, the Director represents the County at the Federal, State and local level to secure necessary fiscal and program support.

Qualifications:

The most qualified candidate will not only meet the minimum requirements but will also possess:
• Experience as a corporate leader who works effectively by achieving successful results at all organizational levels
• A thorough understanding of the functions, goals, laws and regulations of Social Services Programs
• An understanding of the public services environment
• Expertise in governmental budgeting practices that would be applicable relative to/including knowledge of Social Services Programs, goals, mandates and funding mechanisms
• Demonstrated leadership ability in budget constrained environments where change is constant and the demand for effective solutions is high
• Demonstrated communication skills and experience including effective interactions with the public, press, public officials, boards, committees and community-based organizations, etc.
• A reputation for building partnerships through consensus, collaboration and teamwork, including expertise in building effective relationships with the Board of Supervisors, Chief Executive Officer, local government and community leaders, etc.
• Experience managing many aspects of organizational change including technology integration, labor issues, and achieving internal/external organizational buy-in
• A results-oriented track record for identifying and implementing improvements/innovations essential for organizational success
• The ability to develop and implement strategic performance measures suitable for a large Social Services Agency, and
• A commitment to succession planning as a means to develop Agency leadership and employee skills
