$105,190.26 – $147,266.37 Annually

Description:

The Director Water and Sanitation manages the Water and Sanitation Department within the Public Works Agency, representing the Agency in matters relating to the Department, and performing related work.

Responsibilities include administration, construction, repair, maintenance, customer service, and the business of managing the Ventura County Waterworks Districts and seven Ventura County Sanitation Districts. This position manages the County Integrated Waste Management Division and administers Ventura County’s solid waste hauler contracts.

The ideal candidate is a water, wastewater, and solid waste professional with progressively responsible experience in technical roles and management of related utilities operations and facilities. The successful candidate will be dedicated to customer service and demonstrate leadership skills managing an engineering division with commitment to innovation, sustainability, diversity and unification of resources. Additionally a proven thorough understanding of budgets, rate setting, and cost control while effectively and efficiently utilizing public resources will be possessed.

Qualifications:

Typically obtained by a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and two years managing an engineering division. 

REQUIRED: registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California in civil engineering.
