Description:

The Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority (OACCA) is currently seeking a part-time Executive Director to carry out a variety of management and administrative responsibilities under the direction of its Board of Commissioners. The eight-member Board of Commissioners includes two members of the Oakland City Council and two members of the Alameda County Board of Supervisors. The city and county each also appoint two non-elected commissioners.

Responsibilities include administering and insuring the Authority’s compliance with the Coliseum Complex agreements, including bond trust agreements and bank agreements relating to the Authority’s bonds, licenses with sports franchises, and operating agreements with subcontractor; maintaining a positive working relationship and continuing communication with the subcontractor that performs the duties of the operator; participating in the development of requests for proposals (RFP); and in consultation with Legal Counsel, reviewing agreements  and contracts to be entered into by the Authority. Additionally, the selected candidate will write press releases, make public presentations, develop/maintain positive relations with print and electronic media, and maintain a positive image of the Coliseum Complex as an asset to the community at large and as a world class sports and entertainment facility. The qualified individual will also analyze financial statements, review capital improvement, renovation and maintenance projects and annual capital budgets, recommend approval of capital improvement budgets to the Authority Board, market the Coliseum Complex for community-wide and national events, and coordinate, schedule and conduct Authority Board meetings.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have extensive local government experience and expertise in public relations and contract administration. A Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of related public administration experience are desirable.
