Description:

The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District is currently recruiting for the position of Human Resources Manager.  This is a supervisory level Human Resources position, under the general direction of the Fire Chief. The Human Resources Manager directs the performance of Human Resources functions and personnel, requiring independent judgment, excellent communication skills, and a team oriented approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities of the Human Resources Manager will fall into five primary categories:  Strategic Direction – work in partnership with District management and the Union to identify strategic, organizational, and development objectives and align Human Resources initiatives and solutions in support of those objectives; Personnel Management – ensure effective recruitment, promotional examinations, employee development, and succession planning; Employee Relations – assist in resolving employee relations matters in a manner consistent with the District’s core values, policies and procedures; Compliance -ensure District compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Special District laws and regulations; Benefits Administration - administer the District’s benefits, workers’ compensation, and leave programs.
