The San Diego County Employees Retirement Association (SDCERA), an award-winning public pension plan administrator serving more than 37,000 members, is currently recruiting for a Retirement Benefits Manager (official title is Retirement Member Services Manager – Benefit Services Option). The Retirement Benefits Manager supervises and oversees the maintenance of demographic records and financial accounts for more than 21,000 active and deferred SDCERA members and ensures that County and SDCERA policies, State statutes and Internal Revenue Code are followed in the processing of new hires, terminations, refunds, active payroll, retirement estimates, reciprocity, service credit purchases, and death benefits. SDCERA seeks candidates with public agency or pension experience and who are results-oriented. The ideal candidate will exhibit a record as a strong manager and be a catalyst to accelerate knowledge and skills of employees as well as engage employees to accomplish common goals.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in business administration, finance, economics, accounting, or other closely related field, AND, five (5) years of professional level benefits, health, or pension administration experience, two (2) years of which must have included management responsibilities.
