The City of Richmond, California is located 16 miles northeast of
San Francisco and has a growing multicultural population of just
over 100,000. Its 5,714 acres of parks, hillside, open space, and
shoreline access offer a variety of leisure and recreational
resources. The Risk Management Division is responsible for
managing all aspects of risk, including the City’s Workers’
Compensation program, general liability and insurance
programs, manages claims, reviews and assesses insurance
obligations, and ensures that the City is a safe place to work,
live and play.
Reporting to the Human Resources Management Director and supported by a staff of four full-time professionals, the Risk Manager oversees all aspects of the City’s risk management, ensuring compliance with ADA, Cal OSHA, and ERMA requirements, and also administers the City’s employee benefits program.
Bachelor’s degree, eight years of substantial and increasingly responsible experience, including four years in a supervisory role, valid California driver’s license and accreditation as an Associate in Risk Management (ARM).
