Join Us…
Dear County Friends and Colleagues,
Please join me, CSAC’s other officers, and County Supervisors from throughout California at the annual CSAC Legislative Conference on May 14 and 15 in Sacramento. Aside from the Annual Meeting in November, the Legislative Conference offers you the best opportunity to participate in CSAC policy discussions, interact with your peers from around the state, and influence key issues that affect California counties.
This year we’ll gather at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Sacramento, just across the street from the Capitol, and I’m sure you’ll find real value in the conference’s programs and workshops. We will have a focused discussion on water and the drought that is gripping our state. What impacts will it have on agriculture, energy, and the potential for wildfires? Is your county doing all it can to prepare?
Other issues vital to counties will also be on the agenda, including a workshop on the nexus between the Affordable Care Act and the Administration of Justice, and how broadband access can play a role in local economic development. And there’s always an opportunity to visit with your State Senator, Assembly Member, or maybe the Governor and members of his Administration. As CSAC President, I can tell you that state office holders really do value the input and feedback they get from local elected officials. The CSAC Legislative Conference is your chance to provide it to them. I hope to see you in Sacramento in May!
